Quest'anno ricorre i 100 anni dalla morte di Gicomo Puccini e ci sarranno molti eventi in Italia ma particolarmente in Toscana dove ha vissuto la maggior parte dei suoi anni. A lucca sua città natale Ogni sera, alle 19:00, interpreti e programmi diversi che mettono a confronto la musica di Puccini con quella degli altri grandi operisti italiani. Puccini e la sua Lucca è l’unico festival permanente nel mondo.

Torre del Lago  in cui il famoso compositore italiano Giacomo Puccini ha vissuto per trent’anni lo celebra con il Festival Pucciniano con molte delle sue opere. Proprio qui, nella sua casa davanti al lago, realizza le sue opere maggiori, tra cui la Tosca (1900), Madama Butterfly (1904), La Fanciulla del West (1910), La Rondine (1917) e Il Trittico (1918). A poca distanza dalla casa, si erge l’imponente Gran Teatro all’aperto che ospita ogni anno i nomi più illustri della lirica mondiale.

Qui nacque il piccolo Giacomo il 22 dicembre 1858. Gli antenati della sua famiglia vivevano a Lucca già nel XVII secolo e la famiglia si stabilì in questa casa dal 1815.

 This year marks the 100th anniversary of the death of Giacomo Puccini and there will be many events in Italy but especially in Tuscany where he lived most of his years. In Lucca his hometown every evening, at 19:00, different performers and programs that compare the music of Puccini with that of the other great Italian opera players. Puccini and its Lucca is the only permanent festival in the world.

Torre del Lago where the famous Italian composer Giacomo Puccini lived for thirty years celebrates it with the Puccini Festival with many of his works. Right here, in his house in front of the lake, he created his major works, including Tosca (1900), Madama Butterfly (1904), La Fanciulla del West (1910), La Rondine (1917) and Il Trittico (1918). A short distance from the house, stands the imposing Gran Teatro all'aperto which hosts every year the most illustrious names of world opera.

Little Giacomo was born here on 22 December 1858. The ancestors of his family lived in Lucca already in the seventeenth century and the family settled in this house from 1815.
