I Viaggiatori  di Bruno Catalano

..sono sorprendenti sculture in bronzo caratterizzate dalla mancanza della

parte centrale del corpo, affascinanti nel misterioso rapporto tra vuoto e pieno, personaggi eterei capaci di instaurare un dialogo con il mondo circostante fino ad identificarsi con esso .

..Un mix tra storia ed arte contemporanea per valorizzare il monumento simbolo di Lucca. Sulle Mura sono stati posizionati I Viaggiatori – Les Voyageurs di Bruno Catalano, tre seducenti sculture che stanno girando il mondo e ora approdano per un mese nella città di Lucca.

Ogni personaggio raffigurato appare mancante di gran parte del corpo, questi esseri incompleti sembrano disseminare pezzi di sé nei luoghi visitati, evidenziando la vera essenza del viaggiatore. Quando viaggiamo, lasciamo parti di noi stessi nei luoghi che restano lì senza tempo e senza spazio.

Nato in Marocco nel 1960, Bruno Catalano (che vive e lavora in Francia) è costretto ad emigrare in Francia con la famiglia. Sbarca a Marsiglia e a diciotto anni diventa marinaio. L’esperienza dello “sradicamento” e il periodo passato in mare segneranno profondamente la sua esistenza. . Ed è qui che ha iniziato la sua carriera: modellando l’argilla prima, la colatura in bronzo .

..are amazing bronze sculptures characterized by the lack of central part 
of the body, fascinating in the mysterious relationship between empty 
and full, ethereal characters capable of establishing a dialogue with 
the surrounding world .
..A mix between history and contemporary art to enhance the symbolic 
monument of Lucca.
 On its walls in fact they are positioned  - Les Voyageurs by Bruno Catalano,
 three seductive sculptures that are traveling the world and now land 
for a month in the city of Lucca.
Each character depicted appears to be missing a large part of the body, 
these incomplete travellers  seem to scatter pieces of themselves in the 
places visited, highlighting the true essence of the traveler. 
When we travel, we leave parts of ourselves in the places that remain 
there without time and without space.
Born in Morocco in 1960, Bruno Catalano (who lives and works in France) 
is forced to emigrate to France with his family.
 He disembarks in Marseille and at the age of eighteen he becomes a sailor.
 The experience of the "uprooting" and the period spent at sea will deeply 
mark its existence. .
 And this is also where his career began: first modeling clay 
 to bronze casting.
