Recentemente sono stata a Populonia in provincia di Piombino accompagnata da una famosa guida

, Joey Trek, e da alcuni ospiti del B&B. 

Questo stato davvero un giorno magnifico che rimarr con me per molto tempo. In mattinata abbiamo visitato la cittadina di Populonia dove abbiamo ricevuto una spiegazione dall'ancor pi famoso storico Marco Paperini. Ci siamo fermati sulla torre e ci siamo goduti la vista sul rinomato Golfo di Baratti. E poich la torre di Populonia fa parte di una catena di torri, potremmo gi vedere la prossima.

Il villaggio ora completamente di propriet di una famiglia e il loro stemma appeso sopra il cancello quando si entra a Populonia. Dopo abbiamo pranzato a Baratti e fatto un bagno rigenerante nel mare . 

Dopo un rinfrescante tuffo in acqua di una spiaggia affollata, siamo andati in una cantina per degustare i loro migliori vini. La cantina si chiama Tenuta Poggio Rosso a Baratti e hanno vini rossi e bianchi, olio d'oliva e gin. I proprietari della tenuta raccolgono personalmente le erbe aromatiche e preparono accuratamente il tutto per la distillazione . 

Sono stati piantati un gran numero di olivi per la raccolta di olive e vengono frante esternamente perch le macchine sono costose e non producono pezzature sufficienti per questo. 

Posso riferire che i vari vini sono molto gustosi. Inoltre, abbiamo assaggiato l'olio d'oliva ed era molto buono. Sulla via del ritorno al B&B Scacco Matto abbiamo mangiato un panino con la porchetta a" La Baracchina." Era una casa privata , adesso un rinomato luogo. Una fermata per gustare un ottimo panino all'aperto e per noi assistere un fantastico tramonto. La giornata perfetta e divertente.

Recently I was in Populonia in the province of Piombino accompanied by a famous guide, Joey Trek, and by some guests of mine staying at my B&B. This has been a truly magnificent day that will stay with me for a long time. 

In the morning we visited the town of Populonia where we received an explanation from the even more famous historian Marco Paperini. We stopped at the tower and enjoyed the view over the bay of Baratti. And since the Populonia tower is part of a chain of towers, we may already see the next one. 

The village is now fully owned by one family and their coat of arms is also hung above the gate when entering Populonia. After that we had lunch in Baratti and took a swim in the waters of the Bay. After a refreshing dip in the water from a crowded beach, we went to a winery to taste their best wines. 

The winery is called Tenuta Poggio Rosso in Baratti and they have red and white wines, olive oil and gin. The owners of the estate personally collect the aromatic herbs and carefully prepare everything for distillation. 

A large number of olive trees have been planted for the olives and when they are harvested they are crushed externally because the machines are expensive and do not produce sufficient sizes for this. 

I can report that the various wines are very tasty. In addition, we also tasted the olive oil and it was also very good. On the way back to B&B Scacco Matto we ate a porchetta sandwich at "La Baracchina." It was a private house, now a renowned place. A stop to enjoy a great outdoor sandwich and for us to witness a fantastic sunset. The perfect and fun day.
