Teatrino di Vetriano Oggi ho deiso di partecipare alla mia prima Giornate FAI (Fondo Ambiete Italiano) e visiterò il Teatrino di Vetriano, 71 metri quadrati, uno palcoscenico di 5 metri e mezzo,una platea di soli 60 posti, 20 su 2 ordini di balconte e un bel sipario dipinto. Così piccolo da essere accreditato dal Guinness World Records Book, il Teatrino, dopo un accurato restauro, è tornato a vivere e ad ospitare rappresentazioni di prestigio come le riduzioni d'opera in collaborazione con l'Accademia Teatro alla Scala.

Sull’appennino che sfiora Lucca, a Vetriano, c’è un piccolo gioiello da scoprire. La sua storia risale al 1889, quando l’ingegnere Virgilio Biagini affidò alla piccola comunità un fienile da adibire a teatro. Gli abitanti, per lo più contadini, accolsero con grande favore la donazione dando vita a una “Società Paesana”, che si autotassò con versamento una tantum di 2 lire e poi di 50 centesimi al mese per costruire il teatro più la manovalanza. Grazie all’operosità degli abitanti, il teatrino venne costruito in un solo anno e nel 1890 il palcoscenico, incorniciato da decorazioni neoclassiche, poté ospitare le prime rappresentazioni. Dovevano portarsi la seggiola da casa. In seguito l'attività si intensificò e il teatrino divenne ben presto un punto di riferimento per tutta la zona. Dopo un accurato restauro, il teatrino di Vetriano è tornato a vivere e a ospitare commedie brillanti. Ricavati sotto il teatro, potrete ammirare due camerini per il trucco, una sartoria e un piccolo deposito di costumi.

Today I decided to participate to my first FAI Day (Italian Environmente Fund) and I will visit the Teatrino di Vetriano, 71 square meters, an audience of only 60 seats, 20 on 2 orders of balconies and a beautiful painted curtain. Small enough to be accredited by the Guinness World Records Book, the Teatrino, after a careful restoration, has come back to life and hosts prestigious performances such as opera reductions in collaboration with the Teatro alla Scala Academy.On the Apennines that touch Lucca, in Vetriano, there is a little gem to discover.

Its history dates back to 1889, when the engineer Virgilio Biagini entrusted the small community with a barn to be used as a theater. The inhabitants, mostly peasants, welcomed the donation with great favor, giving life to a “Società Paesana”, which taxed itself with a one-off payment of 2 lire and then 50 cents a month to build the theater plus labor. Thanks to the industriousness of the inhabitants, the theater was built in just one year and in 1890 the stage, framed by neoclassical decorations, was able to host the first performances. They had to bring the chair from home. Later the activity intensified and the theater soon became a point of reference for the whole area. After a careful restoration, the Vetriano theater is back to life and to host brilliant comedies. Housed under the theater, you can admire two dressing rooms for make-up, a tailor's shop and a small costume storage.
