  ABETONE              Just an afternoon out on  a  cloudy day I went for a ride to Abetone , our nearby ski resort. While waiting for some snow to start the Winter and Christmas season I discovered some nice corners that give a reason for visiting ABETONE.  There is the SKI MUSEUM, Opened recently, the museum tells the history of skiing, the history of its  great champions, the history of a  country and its facilities, which made famous skiing in the world. The PYRAMIDS    of Abetone are  monuments that stand in the center  of Abetone, at 1375 meters above sea level.They are  intended for the opening of the pass, in the second half of the eighteenth century, to celebrate the importance of this communication route that would guarantee the flourishing of trade.      La mia Bella Toscana Durante una gita fuori porta  ho scoperto un'altro gioello della mia bella Toscana. Le Balze del Valdarno  sono degli strani rilievi di detriti stratificati composti da sabbia, argilla, ciottoli e ghiaia, formati per erosione in seguito al prosciugamento di un lago che ricopriva la zona due milioni di anni fa e modellati dagli agenti atmosferici.Si trovano tra Firenze ed Arezzo. Il primo che si accorse della loro particolarità fu  Leonardo da Vinci  come testimoniano i suoi manoscritti raccolti nel Codice Hammer.   Leonardo da Vinci  le osservò e studiò da vicino restandone notevolmente impressionato tanto da dipingerle in alcune sue opere tra cui sembra anche nella “ Gioconda “. In quel periodo il paesaggio del Valdarno era ancor più di oggi contraddistinto dalle Balze, però sono diventate  Aree Protette della Toscana  solo dal  17 giugno 1988.
